BioHowdy. My name's Shane McDermott. I'm an Illustrator for a 220,000 plus circulation newspaper called the Commercial Appeal. Mayhaps some of you fellow Memphians have heard of it? Anyway, that's a pretty sweet gig. I also draw educational comics for McGraw-Hill. That's a pretty sweet gig too. I occassionally teach a computer coloring for comics class in Memphis College of Art's Community Ed Saturday school and/or Summer Art Camp. In the Fall semester of 2006 I taught Intermediate Illustration 3 and 4 at MCA as well. At the moment I'm getting started on my first graphic novel. For now I'm calling it "The Moon Story." There's a flying lighthouse in it! So...I'm pretty retarded when it comes to knowing how to make live journals, bloggers, comicspaces, and myspaces look cool. That also goes for me non-existant web-site. I'm on vacation this week, however, and I'm hoping to change all that. So...stay tuned.
